Disclaimer: This answer is about what may be reasons for people hating Shahrukh. In my opinion, he is best romantic actor in past 2 decades and has great sense of humour. Its everyone's personal opinion. But it is true that having millions of fans, Shahrukh also has thousands of haters( mostly males ). Even SRK fans can't deny this fact.

Possible reasons for being hated
  • His nose. He himself had admitted in a TV show that his wife don't like his nose.
  • Unnecessary attitude at wrong place at wrong time.
  • Here is a video showing that many people even don't like his gesture and politeness may be because it appears artificial many times.
  • Controversies (source :http://indiatoday.intoday.in/gal...)
    • The fight between choreographer Farah Khan's husband Shirish Kunder and  Shah Rukh Khan drew maximum attention of people and media alike. The  brawl allegedly started with the slapping and punching of Farah's  husband Shirish by the actor at a party of Sanjay Dutt.

    • Shiv Sena activists tore off posters of My Name Is Khan in Thane  protesting against Shah Rukh's statement that Pakistani cricketers  should be allowed to participate in Indian Premier League. Shah Rukh  Khan, who owns the Kolkata Knight Riders team, had said that the IPL  could have handled the controversy over franchisees not selecting  Pakistani cricketers at an auction in a "nicer manner".
    • It was Katrina Kaif's big day, but it turned into an ugly free-for-all  between the two Khans. The slanging match started when Salman Khan  approached Shah Rukh, who was one of the guests at Katrina's birthday  bash, to do a special appearance in one of his films. Shah Rukh  declined. It was not taken well by Salman, and he started calling SRK  names. He allegedly told SRK that he was one of the most selfish men he  had ever met. What angered Salman was that he had always obliged Shah  Rukh, the last one being a guest appearance in Om Shanti Om. It is  believed that things got nasty when Salman's former girlfriend Aishwarya  Rai's name got dragged into the fight. Salman vowed never speak with  Shah Rukh again.
  • While his controversies are not as big as Salman's but people still love Salman because of his behaviour and truthfulness.

While many people hate Shahrukh, it only adds to his popularity. People still watch his films however bad it may be(like Ra One). After all, he is the King Khan of bollywood.
